Yahoo Publisher Network for small publishers is closing on April 30.Yahoo has also notified about this to all the Small Publishers via E-Mail.Yahoo announced in its Blog that “We have decided to close the program effective April 30, 2010. This only affects our self-service platform for small publishers who syndicate our Content Match (contextual) listings.”

In the E-Mails Yahoo is suggesting it’s Publisher to switch to chitika.Yahoo wrote “For the opportunity to continue earning revenue, we suggest using chitika, a leading advertising network that syndicates yahoo! Content match and sponsored search ads. Chitika has set up a special process for ypno beta publishers to participate in its platform.”

Yahoo first introduced it’s Publisher Network in 2005, and it was believed that Yahoo will expand it’s publisher network when it comes out of Beta. But instead of coming out from Beta Yahoo decides to close its Publisher Network doors for Small Publishers.

Yahoo GeoCities one of the most visited domain is shutting down on October 26, 2009.

In April, Yahoo announced that GeoCities will not accept any new registration and in June Yahoo decided to close GeoCities.GeoCities FAQ states “GeoCities is not being decommissioned — it’s being deleted.”

Jason Scott and his Archive Team are working to rescue GeoCities by downloading as much of its content as possible.Jason Scott said:

“… for hundreds of thousands of people, this was their first website. This was where you went to get the chance to publish your ideas to the largest audience you might ever have dreamed of having. Your pet subject or conspiracy theory or collection of writings left the safe confines of your Windows 3.1 box and became something you could walk up to any internet-connected user, hand them the URL, and know they would be able to see your stuff. In full color. Right now.“
